As Silicon Valley continues to grapple with the aftermath of COVID-19 and evolving workforce dynamics, Los Altos History Museum hosts a timely discussion featuring Business Reporter Ethan Baron from The Mercury News. The program, titled “Understanding Silicon Valley’s Workforce Issues: A Conversation with Reporter Ethan Baron,” is scheduled for Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 5:30-7pm. During the event, Baron will engage in a conversation with a group of the Museum’s Teen Docents, who have prepared questions reflecting the concerns of their generation. Together, they will discuss topics such as the effects of stay-at-home orders and remote work dynamics on the economy and our lifestyles, and international workforce concerns, including the complexities of the H-1B visa program. Baron’s extensive career encompasses roles as a reporter, columnist, editor, and photographer across various newspapers and magazines. His coverage has spanned a wide array of subjects, from business and politics to social issues, crime, the environment, war, and humanitarian crises. Registration for the program is required. Admission is $15/person, free for Museum members. Register at losaltoshistory.org/EthanBaron.
