DESCRIPTION:Watershed Master Plans\nWith Heidi Williams\, Water Resource Specialist at Valley Water\n\n\n\nThe Watershed Master Plans are Valley Water's comprehensive planning process that ensures Valley Water projects\, programs\, and partnerships meet watershed management goals. We have previously completed Watershed Master Plans for three of our watersheds: the Coyote Creek\, Guadalupe\, and Upper Pajaro Watersheds. Valley Water is now working on the final two plans for the Lower Peninsula and West Valley Watersheds. Heidi Williams will introduce our Watershed Master Planning process\, the West Valley and Lower Peninsula Watersheds\, outline the role of community involvement\, and share a timeline and next steps for the project.\n\n \n\nSpeaker Bio:\n\nHeidi Williams is an environmental scientist who cares deeply about enhancing the ecosystem health of California's water\, from the headwaters of the Sacramento River to the outlet of the San Francisco Bay. She holds a Master's in International Environmental Policy from Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. There she conducted economic analyses that demonstrate the interdependence between the health of the U.S. economy and the health of our estuaries and coasts.\n\n \n\nHeidi works as a water resources specialist at Valley Water\, Santa Clara County's water resources management agency. There she is leading the development of the Lower Peninsula and West Valley Watershed Master Plans.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Los Altos Chamber Government Affairs Committee studies\, analyzes & formulates positions on issues affecting the Los Altos business community\, makes recommendations to the Board of Directors on public policy positions\, monitors government actions & communicates chamber positions to appropriate officials to encourage positive actions\, attends city council or commission meetings and expresses chamber opinions.
